Bio
Renata Kalife is a writer born in Monterrey, Mexico. Currently completing her MFA in Fiction at Columbia University, where she is a recipient of the Henfield Foundation Scholarship.
She has worked in contemporary art since 2021, formerly leading gallery operations at Colector, working on projects with Kasmin Gallery and holding an internship at Olney Gleason concurrently with her full time MFA studies. She founded Glosa Text in 2020 — a bilingual editorial practice serving clients across the US and Mexico.
Her work can take the shape of curatorial texts, corporate copy, literary translation, essays and fiction. Take a peek here.
Though she also writes in Spanish, her practice is mainly exophonic, with the English language being her main conduct for words.
Her writing is born from a combination of incessant curiosity and sharp sensibility combined with precision and rigor.
She currently lives in New York.
